My young GD asked for a crop top sweater with short sleeves. Pink or various shades of purple are her favorite colors.
I found a very cute free pattern on Ravelry: Vanilla Sugar Shrug by Julia Stangeland. I used Michael's Arts & Crafts yarn: Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly in Lilac & size 7 needles as per instructions. It turned out super cute, if I do say so myself.
The pattern was knit from the top down & all in one piece. The short sleeves were "pick up stitches" & knitted in the round using the magic loop. No seaming. No sewing.
My GD liked it, but it was too small, so I'm going to knit it again with heavier yarn & size 10 or 10.5 needles. It's a quick knit, so I don't mind.
