I'm working on two big projects right now. One is a white lacy braided baby blanket and the other is a pink and purple cardigan for my grand daughter. Neither one is ready for show or to post about.
Sometimes, I need to take a break from these bigger projects or sometimes I need a project that is more portable than a blanket or a sweater. On a recent trip to Michael's Arts & Crafts to pick up some more materials for the sweater, I came across some new yarn. it's put out by Red Heart Yarn and it's called, "Scrubby". It's all polyester and comes in several colors.
It's makes for a very nice scrubby for dishes and pots and pans.
I used size 8 needles and CO of 30 sts. Garter st. all the way through.
We have a deal in our home, I cook and hubby does the dishes. He really likes the new scrubby cloth and he suggested that I could probably make a bunch and sell them. Uh....that would be a big fat, "No!"
While this yarn makes a very nice scrubbing cloth, it isn't all that nice or pleasant to knit with. What can I say....it was a scratchy experience. Also, this yarn pretty expensive compared to regular cotton yarns used for making dishcloths.
