Some New Knitting Stuff

Wow!  It's been a long time since I've posted anything.  Well, since finishing the little girl's shawl, Ive made another little girl's shawl, also in black, but this one is a rectangle in shape.  I didn't get a chance to take photos before I gave it to her.  I'm waiting for the Mom to send photos of her daughter wearing it.

In the mean time, I've been diligently looking at baby items to knit.  We're expecting another grand baby in Jan.

Today my hubby & I went to Natural Stitches, a LYS not too far away from me.  The store had a rack with several knitted baby sweaters hanging on it & I fell in love with a little green sweater called Maile.  It's free on Ravelry.  The sweater was done in a yarn called "Squish", so I couldn't wait to check it out.

And, since I was out shopping, I picked a couple of new knitting needles.

I picked up Chia Goo Stainless Steel Cirs in Size 4, & I picked up Addi Turbos Rockets, also in Size 4.

As you can see I also bought a panda bear tape measure, because my youngest daughter loves all things Panda.

I also wanted to try some different stitch markers.

After the LYS, we had some lunch & then, we went to the Tuesday Morning store, because we had never been there before.  It was a really nice discount store & believe it or not, they had an assortment of yarns and a few knitting needles.  I picked a Deborah Norville Cir in Size 2 with a 47" long cable for when I get back into knitting socks.  The regular price was $7.49.  Tuesday Morning's price was $3.49, so I had to get it.

I can't wait to try out this Squish Yarn and I just love the color & the shape of the skein.  It was a hank of yarn that the LYS wound into a ball for me.  I'm so excited to try these needles & yarn.

Oh, just in case you're wondering, we don't know if the new grand baby is a boy or a girl yet, but I wanted to knit the Maile Baby Sweater in pink.  Later, I'll look for a boy's sweater pattern.
