Cataraqui Socks Finished

I came across these lovely socks on Ravelry and I knew that I had to knit them, especially; since I had almost identical colored sock yarn.  How often does that happen?  Cataraqui Socks by Elizabeth McCarten.  Free pattern.

They were a lot of fun to knit, especially since I haven't knitted socks for a very long time.

 They're reversible too.

I made a couple of changes to the original pattern.  Instead of casting on 54 sts., I CO 60 sts, because I was afraid that 54 sts. would be too tight and make it too difficult to get the socks off and on.  I made the right decision of CO 60 sts.

The other change that I made, I used the "Eye of Partridge" stitch for the heel flap instead of the stockinette stitch as in the pattern, because I like it a lot for socks.

 Original pattern.

Pattern inside out.

I used size 2 knitting needle with a 40-in. cable and knitted using the magic loop method.  The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Solids (25019 Blue Topaz).  It's a very nice sock yarn.

Now back to my other UFO's.
