Starting Over With The Purple Socks

I have to get caught up on a few things. First of all, last week, my baby turned 14 years old!

Where did the time go?

Yes, that's a knitting basket in the background, one of many.

The last time I posted, I wrote about the Violet Sock Cocktail kit that I got from Knit Picks. This Stroll yarn is wonderful! I discovered that I like to knit Toe-Up socks.

I started these with the Round Toe cast on. This method is found both found in Charlene Schurch's Sensational Socks book and in the instructions that came with the sock kit. Then, I decided I wanted to try a short-row toe like the one in Cat Bordhi's book: Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles, however, I didn't like the way it turned out. It was probably me, but it just didn't look right, so I took out my trusty Sock Wizard software and used it to generate a short-row toe pattern for me.

I give you a cute little cup for your toes!

And, no wonky looking increases on the toes either.

So, I'm back in business with my socks.
