My Birthday Gift from Knit Picks

I was going to blog about my latest toe-up experiment, but then this came in the mail today!

It's called a Sock Cocktail from Knit Picks. Look at all the yarn!

It's Knit Picks yarn called Stroll. I've never used it before, so I'm anxious to try it. I'll be sure to give a review after I've had a chance to play with it.

I'm so excited about this kit, because there's enough yarn here to knit 5 prs. of women's (large) socks, plus some socks with the leftovers. The kit also comes with patterns that can be done either cuff down or toe-up. You choose the toe style, the heel style and the cuff style that suits you.

I also got some other goodies for my birthday.

I got some 40" cables so that I can knit hats & mittens with the Magic Loop method. I also ordered so connectors, so that I can make my cables any length I need.

And, of course, I had to get some new knitting needles!

Mother Day-Birthday 2010

The month of May is always a busy time for my family. There's Mother's Day, my Mom's birthday, then my birthday. My mom and I've been celebrating our birthdays together for as long as I can remember. Then, when I became a mom.....then, we threw that into the Celebrations as well.

Here's the shared Boston Cream Cake with Strawberries! It was delicious and refreshing!

Here's the roses that were given to the women at church for Mother's Day.

Here are the gifts that I was surprised with.

Favorite chocolate-mint candy.

A record (vinyl) player, cassette player, radio and CD player/recorder! Wow!

A gift card to Michael's Arts & Crafts. Check our the bottom of the bag. Hubby and youngest daughter went out shopping during the middle of a bad storm. A big gust of wind came along and blew out the bottom of the bag. It looks like it's been sliced. Hubby showed me the bag just to show me how severe the wind had been.

It was a great Mother's Day-Birthday Day! I hope yours was, too!
