Here's the Feather and Fan Baby Sweater I've been working on. The photo on Lion Brand's site doesn't do it justice. I really discovered this pattern while reading Down Cloverlaine's blog. The minute I saw this, I knew that I had to knit one of these sweaters in pink.
I used Bernat Baby Sport yarn in Baby Pink with size 6 Knit Picks Nickel Plated Options needles.
Close-up of the Feather and Fan pattern:
I've always liked the Feather and Fan pattern, so I really enjoyed making this sweater. It's been a while since I made a baby sweater and I can't remember making one with button band. Now the original pattern only gives instructions for making the button band on 1 side of the sweater and not the the other, but my sweater just didn't look right. So, I took a closer look at both of the sweaters on LB's site and Down Cloverlaine's site and it looks like they both picked ups sts. on both sides of the sweater, so that's what I ended up doing. I'm happy with the results. Now all I have to do is find the perfect buttons for it.
