A New Pup and New Knitting

About a month ago, DS decided that we needed to give a puppy a home. We already have a 6 YO Beagle named Monty, that doesn't do much other than sleep and eat. He's house-broken and we basically don't know that he's around unless we wake him up or open the fridge. Why ruin a good thing?

Well, after much persuasion and charming us, he brought "Puddles" into our home.

Yes, he does live up to his name! But, he seems to have adjusted to his new people and he is a delight to have with us. He's about a year old. Puddles is part Tri-colored Beagle and part Basset Hound. He's so goofy and cute looking at the same time. He likes to play all the time and he has brought the 1st dog out of his coma. Sometimes, Puddles can be relentless with his wrestling & playing with our older dog. Sometimes, I can just see Monty saying, "I didn't sign up for this." All in all, things are working out. There are days that my sides hurt from laughing at all the antics around here. Once Puddles, I like to refer to him as "Puddy", gets into action, it like watching a cartoon. And, yes, he has discovered my balls of yarn! Yikes! I have to remember to keep all my knitting stuff out of harm's way.

Now, onto knitting. A long time ago, I decided that I needed a basic white sweater. Well, I had started one and I had finished the back of it, but I could never figure how to stay in pattern while working the fronts, so I set it aside. My dear Mom has periodically asked me about the sweater. I think that she thinks that I'm in a sock-knitting rut. (Nonsense.) I mean ....can one really be in a sock-knitting rut? So, while I'm healing up from foot surgery, I looked for another sweater pattern to work on and I think that I found one.

It's knit from the bottom up, all one-piece on size 9 Cirs. My 9's, from Knit Picks set is in use somewhere..........hmm...now, I wonder what forgotten project is on those needles? So, I had to dig out ol' faithful.....my Needle Master set from the 1980's.

Things are moving along, a bit more slowly compared to knitting socks. I have over 200 sts. & it takes me approximately 20-25 mins. to knit a row, but, hey, I've got 8 more wks. in a cast.

OMG...I once had a beagle/bassett hound named Freddy. Poor Freddy was not healthy when we got him and he was often into behavior that was not good at all (sigh).

Can't wait to see more of the sweater....knit, knit, knit....

I think you will like knitting sweaters all in one piece. I do. Therefore you will finish this one.
I can't wait to see it.. Bet you will have it finished BEFORE the cast comes off...

This reminds me of when I got Samantha, Monty's mommy and just couldn't resist ruining a good thing and off I went to get Bela, Monty's dad who instantly fell in love with Samantha but I think Samantha holds a grudge to this day. :) I am glad to hear that Monty has a new friend.
