The Cat (Sock) That Came to Agitate-not a book review

This is the Cat Sock from Cat Bordhi's book-Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles. I haven't done any intarsia for a very long time. I started this sock last week on US size 2 needles and I could tell that it was going to be a too snug of a fit, so I went to US size 3 needles. My gauge was in-between sizes. My youngest dd and I were real pleased with my process and thought that these were so adorable. That was until I tried the sock on.....I can only get the sock to go half way up my foot!
It seems like the problem lies in where I carried my colors in the round for the intarsia design, (Sigh.) I tried to keep my tension even, but snug so that the other color wouldn't show through, and I also make sure that my sts. were snug at the beginning and at the end of the rounds in order to avoid the dreaded "ladders" in the sock.

Maybe I should have titled this post, "Now You See It and Now You Don't"? It looks like I'm going to be ripping out this sock. (sniff). I don't know that I have the heart to CO for a third time!

Love the sock. Whenever I knit a Cat Bordhi sock, it doesn't fit me either. This is too ironic that I can't leave you a message on Blogger today but I can on 360. Anyhow, love the sock even if it doesn't fit.

I like it. Would love to see a picture of the finish sock.

I tried several different times w/different size needles & different yarns, etc. and I still couldn't get this pattern to work.

I love your sock; do you have kitties? If you do, or love someone who does, give one sock as a Christmas sock for a cat for the treats and such. Puuuurfect, my kitties would love it.
